It's Been Awhile...

Hello world -

It has been a long time since I have been able to sit down and write and you know what? I miss it!!
Unfortunately all of the crazy snow that we had pushed back all of my homework/tests/quiz's to last week. Last week was like going through the place down under!!!

So far this has been a good week! :) I just got back from a CHI walk and now Mandy, Jenn and I are watching The Time Travelers Wife. Who wants to take bets that Jenn falls asleep before the movie ends?? lol

I finally figured out how to make my dashboard "stream" the newest blogs posted by people that I follow. Does anyone know any way to make the dashboard prettier?? Like to add backgrounds, pretty text, etc??

One of my many blessings that I have is being able to lead a woman's only small group. It means so much to me that I am able to take time out of my busy week and get together with some amazing fellow Christian women to help each other, talk with each other, and learn and grow in Christ. This week we talked about being chosen by Christ. There are so many different parts of scripture that talk about God choosing to love us and to save us. His love is amazing!! 1 Peter 2:9 says "You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of the darkness into His marvelous light." As I told my small group, I relate everything in my life to a song, so this brings me to one of my favorite popular Christian songs, City On Our Knees by tobyMac. Y'all should all youtube it and listen to it!

If you gotta start somewhere why not here
If you gotta start sometime why not now
If we gotta start somewhere I say here
If we gotta start sometime I say now
Through the fog there is hope in the distance
From cathedrals to third world missions
Love will fall to the earth like a crashing wave

Tonight’s the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide in a beautiful display
It’s all up tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees
A city on our knees

Well as I read back over what I've written tonight I see that I have rambled! lol! So I think I'll end here and pay more attention to the movie!

Nighty night folks!!

Hello World!

Hello World!

I hope y'all are all doing well!

We got a little bit more snow last night here in Fabulous Farmvegas resulting in a delay of classes! I have to admit I was very excited!

Now for the really good news! Me, Jennifer Bennett and Mandy Sawyer got into an apartment at Longwood Village! We are so excited! Things were getting heated in Cox 411 this morning though because the computer kept saying error! It was not fun! But finally we got through and got and apartment! We are super excited! I can't wait to have my own room in bathroom! No one will disturb me in the shower now! Which by the way is one of my biggest pet peeves! My shower time is my time! Don't bother me! :) Anyways back to the apartment. I believe that our colors for the living room are going to be blue and white, for Longwood duh! My room is going to be pink and brown, as well as my bathroom! I'm so excited to start shopping for things to decorate!

I feel like I had something really witty to write today but for the life of me I can't remember what is was. If I think of it I'll let you know!

I will write a bit about the book I'm reading. It's another, I had to admit it, Nora Roberts book. It's the third and last of a series of books about witches. This one is called Face the Fire. It's actually really good! It's about three modern day witches who live on a vacation island and they must defeat some kind of evil force that is trying to destroy the island. Ok so now that I write that it sounds really lame but it's not! I promise! The three witches all have their "better halves" and have all gone through struggles to protect each other and their "covens". You should read it! :)

Ok well I better get going before I'm late to class! Have a great day :)

The Arts

What an exciting evening!!

Phil and I decided that for Valentine's Day and our 4 year anniversary, we would buy each other tickets! Tickets? you might ask? Yes Tickets!

I bought Phil tickets to Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family Play on Feb. 21!

What did Phil buy me?? Well..... :) I'M GOING TO SEE MICHAEL BUBLE!!!!!! I'm super excited!!! I have been wanting to see him for years. The last time he was in Virginia we were at JPJ watching Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood. I'm so excited I could pee my pants!

Then, during our Spring Break we are going to see Wicked!

And finally, this Friday is the premier of Dear John and I have a date! :)

Live Like You Were Dying

Hello folkes!

I initially came to my blog to take a break from studying for my test. I kept thinking that I was gonna die before this test was over. I really enjoy accounting but it's just darn hard. Anyways back to my point. I've been in a bad mood all day :( I think it's just been a mixture of things and I don't get to go home for another two weeks and I really miss home and my animals. So...I was in a bad mood studying for my test, when this played on my iTunes.

Sometimes we fall down and can't get back up
we're hiding behind skin that's too tough
how come we don't say I love you enough
till it's to late, it's not too late

Our hearts are hungry for a food that won't come
we could make a feast from these crumbs
and we're all staring down the barrel of a gun
so if your life flashed before you
what would you wish you would've done

Yeah... gotta start
lookin at the hand of the time we've been given here
this is all we got and we gotta start pickin it
every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
gotta live like we're dying

We only got
86 400 seconds in a day to
turn it all around or throw it all away
we gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
while we got the chance to say
gotta live like we're dying

And if your plane fell out of the skies
who would you call with your last goodbyes
should be so careful who we live out our lives
so when we long for absolution
there'll no one on the line

Yeah... gotta start
lookin at the hand of the time we've been given here
this is all we got and we gotta start pickin it
every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
gotta live like we're dying

We only got
86 400 seconds in a day to
turn it all around or throw it all away
we gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
while we got the chance to say
gotta live like we're dying

So once again I come to the realization that I shouldn't sweat this. Yes this test is gonna be hard, my day has sucked and I feel like poo but you know what? Who cares! This is just a piece of the puzzle that God has for me. He wouldn't give me anything that I can't handle. He didn't give me this day to stress. He gave me this day to live! So here's to being HAPPY, living like we're dying and not sweating the small stuff! :)

Today Is Not a Snow Day

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! Scratch that it's after 12!

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE!!!!

Fist off, I'm just going to take a moment to vent a bit! We are all disappointed that there are classes today people but the fact is, Longwood has done an EXCELLENT job cleaning the campus and there are classes today. We are adults so let but on our big kid britches and get over it! Go to class! It's what you would have done if there wasn't snow!

Wow - that feels better!

I'm very excited that I had a lot of feed back on FB for me creating a blog! I hope I don't disappoint!! I love Rachel Price's idea of talking about the books I'm reading! I will be sure to do that! As for the idea of gossip, hahahaha, i wish I could!! But I'm going to be on my best behavior while writing my posts! :)

Well it's about time for class! Last one of the day then studying all day for a huge test tomorrow! Oh dear!

Have a good day friends!!

Here We Go!

So...Here we go!
I've conformed to the rest of cyber America and have created a blog! Ahh... I have no idea what this means or what it will lead to but I'm gonna try! Who knows, maybe millions of people will find my blog interesting and I'll make some money, doubt it! Anyways...... :)

I find it really disappointing that Longwood and the town of Farmville did such a good job clearing the roads and campus. I was really praying for another snow day. But then I was like if I have to be hear I might as well go to class and it's not like I'd get that much done during the time that I wouldn't be in class. So now it's fine with me that there's class. There's suppose to be a snow/rain mix Tuesday and more snow Friday and Saturday. Maybe one of those will give us some days off!

So here's a quick review of the Grammy's
Eminem is playing now. I can't stand him or his music. I think I'd rather wax my eyebrows over and over again then listen to more then a minute of him. Blah. I must admit that I have a not so much a secret anymore obsession with Lady Gaga and I have to say I really liked her performance tonight. Especially when she sung Your Song with Elton John. Touched my heart. Beyonce was as fabulous and glamorous as ever. I liked that she went a little Gaga in her performance. I think I've officially made Gaga a verb! Woot Wooot! Pink was good! I wasn't on the edge of my seat like I was for that other performance she did in the air, but I still loved it! Taylor Swift is just amazing all together. She looked beautiful tonight! I just want to kiss Keith Urban. Just one kiss. Just one time. Do you think Nicole would mind. Phil, would you mind if I kissed him if I let you kiss Carrie Underwood????? Speaking of Carrie, looking beautiful tonight in the dress for the Michael Jackson song! Not so much in the red carpet dress! The MJ song was really good but the 3d video? Not so much. I don't think the 3d glasses would have helped much either. And where were these 3d glasses available anyways???

Well I reckon that's enough for now! Time for a shower and a bit of reading before bed. Tomorrow's gonna be a busy day! :) It's Ambassador Polo day and that makes me happy! Rock the Blue and Khaki!!!
